Broad Spectrum Cleaner and Disinfectant.

Kills the most difficult viruses and bacteria in five minutes!

Traditional disinfectants take up to 10 minutes and normally require reapplication in order to achieve the 10 minute contact time needed.

Safe for people and the environment - active ingredient (Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide) converts to water vapour and oxygen when drying.

Available in wipes, 32oz, 1 gal and 5 gal containers.

AHP is a Canadian product that was recently recognized for being the first new class of disinfectant technology in the past 20 years. AHP offers some remarkable properties in the control of pathogens that offer great benefits when compared to existing disinfectant technologies. AHP's track record to date:

  1. Its currently used in approximately 80% of the veterinary clinics in Canada.
  2. Its currently used in approx 80% of the hospitals in Canada.
  3. It was the disinfectant recommended for use by the Ontario government during the SARS crisis that hit Toronto in 2003.
  4. It is used word wide in the cruise ship industry, and was the main player in the defeat of the Norwalk virus crisis that hit that industry. If you take a cruise today (lucky you!) you will almost certainly see the AHP logo on the products used on the ship. It's interesting to note that cruise ships suffer the same close confinement issues that abound in animal agriculture today, and as such share the corresponding issues with the control of the spread of pathogens.

AHP was created by combining low levels of hydrogen peroxide (less than 0.5%) with safe ingredients (all from the FDA GRAS or EPA Inerts listings) which in combination drastically improves the efficacy of the hydrogen peroxide. As such AHP has many strong advantages over existing disinfectant technologies:

  1. Cleaning Ability: Traditional disinfectants are poor cleaners and generally require a cleaning step prior to the application of the disinfectant. AHP is an excellent cleaner and a disinfectant. Therefore unless the surface is heavily soiled a pre-cleaning step is not needed, which not only saves labor but also best assures an effective result.
  2. Efficacy: AHP is EPA approved for killing both enveloped and non-enveloped viruses as well as bacteria (including mycobacteria such as Tuberculosis) and does so much faster than existing technologies.  It's approved as a 'General Virucide' and therefore can be used against all types of viruses.
  3. Speed: Existing disinfectants generally take 10 minutes to kill - since surfaces dry quicker than that the product must be reapplied in order to ensure sufficient contact time. AHP is approved with a 5 minute kill time in Canada. This quicker kill time better assures an effective end result and greatly lessens the chance that reapplication will be needed.
  4. Personnel Safety: AHP is composed of a 0.5% solution of Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide (compare this to hydrogen peroxide in the little brown bottle we get a the drug store, which is 3.0%).  It does not require the use of personnel protective equipment.
  5. Environmental: AHP is Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) and Nonylphenol Ethoxylates (NPE) free. In fact while drying it converts to just water vapor and oxygen.  It can safely be poured down any drain without risk of causing environmental damage.

Due to the unequalled efficacy and environmental profiles AHP based products have received the following awards of late.

  • EPA Champion - Design for the Environment's Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative
  • Green Guard award for low emitting products and materials
  • Green Seal Certification - a science based environmental certification
  • EcoLogo - AHP was the first disinfectant to ever meet this standard
